Blepharoplasty is a day procedure, so you can go home on the day of your treatment, a few hours after your surgery. Some bruising and inflammation are normal post-treatment, though this should subside within 10 days. The majority of patients return to work 7-10 days after upper eyelid surgery. Upper eyelid surgery requires a longer recovery period of approximately 2 weeks.
Drooping skin in the eye area is most commonly associated with ageing, so it’s most suitable when collagen and hyaluronic levels start to reduce. This can begin during your late 20s and early 30s.
Some individuals are genetically predisposed to eye bags and/or have excess skin in the eye area. We may recommend treatment in this case.
